         Energy Efficiency
        

Increased of energy efficiency generally means improved of company profitability. This is an important key to long term competitiveness in world markets. Also, it offers obvious benefits for country such as improved use of national resource, reduced energy imports and reduced environmental pollution.

Energy Management
Could be divided in few items as below:

  1. Lighting
  2. Air Conditional
  3. Heat Recovery
  4. Frequency Drive Control
  5. Water Pump and Cooling Tower
  6. Air compressor, Dryer and Boiler
  7. Energy Data Management System
  8. Others


1. Lighting

No. Items
1 Reduce day time lighting by install the translucent roofing.
2 Remove or replace high wattage spot light at process line by T5 fluorescent tube. 
3 Replace Mercury high bay lamp and street lighting by high efficiency induction lamp and reduce the distance from lamp to ground
4 Replace bulb type lamp for Exit Signboard, rotary lamp, torch light etc by LED type indication.
5 Replace normal T8 fluorescent lamp with high efficiency T5 fluorescent lamp.
6 Reduce minimum lighting or switch off for non working area.

2. Air Conditional

1 Installed air conditioners with high efficiency(0.47~0.61KW/RT)water cooled and VVVF standard type.  
2 Window for office building to be consider for tinted to avoid heat lost
3 All the door in the air-con room to be review for tightly closed to avoid heat lost
4 All the exhaust fan for air-con room to be removed
5 Fresh air exchange could be considered for timer control after filtering.
6 Set temperature for office at 25 degree C or and above
7 Chiller unit have better energy performance will be study in future.

3. Heat Recovery

1 Heat pump for hot water and air-con usage
2 Heating hood coated with heat resistance paint  


4. Frequency Drive Control

No. Items
1 Replace flow control by damper with VVVF drive
2 Basic load taken by turbo compressor and peak load taken by VVVF compressor
3 Maintain water pressure or flow depend on usage of cooling system for BAF

Pump & Blower VVVF control

Figure below show the results of some equipment at blower, pump and compressor before and after replaced with VVVF control system. For average, nearly 50% of electric energy can be reduced.



5. Water Pump and Cooling Tower

4 Bigger size cooling tower plant consider for future expansion and use common header

6. Air Compressor, Dryer and Boiler

1 Separate the normal air and instrument air into 2 system for optimization
2 Reduce air leakage from process line and packing line
3 Joint 2 piping system in one between 2 plant for optimization
4 Set compressor air pressure at reasonable level

7. Energy Data Management System

  • Computerize system with refresh every 5 min for real energy data.
  • build up energy usage data
  • big Hp water pump performance record
  • proposal of energy saving by section

8. Others

1 Some production line been arrange to operate during off peak hour
2 Hydraulic unit auto off during roll change
3 Utility monitoring system to be implemented
4 Awareness training to be given to all employees
